Elise Gwyn Psychotherapy
rediscover the strength of compassion.
In challenging times, the most powerful thing we can control is how we treat ourselves. Compassion and self-awareness empower us to navigate life’s obstacles with greater confidence. I offer a supportive space for individuals seeking to explore the origins of their patterns, gain a deeper understanding of their underlying emotions, and discover new ways of relating to themselves and others.
I’m passionate about creating a therapeutic space where you feel genuinely safe to share and explore. In our work together, I hope to help you develop new ways of responding that will bring you closer to your goals and values.
About
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C). I received my MA in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University in 2017.
I have worked extensively with people experiencing chronic shame, difficulties with boundaries and healthy communication, challenging relationships, trauma, and those navigating grief and loss. I also specialize in perinatal mental health, and provide support through the whole journey of fertility, pregnancy, and parenting.
My approach to psychotherapy is person-centered and flexible. I primarily integrate Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to provide a solid foundation for change.
